Agrasen Ki Baoli - Our little walk trip around Delhi!
Our ( me & my hubby ) little walk started around 8am near Central Secretariat, Delhi. Walking along the Rajpath amidst the mist, we reached the India Gate. Following our GPS device our next pit stop was Jantar Mantar (Photos coming Soon). Taking the Janpath road, we circled around CP, did some shopping and lunch before walking towards Tolstoy Marg for our next landmark- Argasen Ki Boali. Around 4pm we finally reached this archeological find.. but by then, I was already really really tired.. 8.5 KM I guess, i wasn't really up for it!! :)
About the place- We found about this place from www.thedelhiwalla.com.This is a 300 year old well built by then ruling Maharaja. Kinda very deep and underground- 60 meters long and 15 meters wide and has 103 steps - some parts of which used to be permanently immersed in water. The stepwell consists of three different levels each of which is lined with arched niches on both sides. More info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agrasen_ki_Baoli.
